Getting ignored isn't acceptable in a free country....

I continue to write to my representatives. I have received generic e-mails, with no substance that skirts the issue of loan forgiveness. I receive feedback with info about the changes that are in place recently from past student loan legislation, and very little attention is directed to my questions about our movement and our agenda. This in itself encourages me to keep writing, and working with our group to never give up and keep on with this movement. If President Obama meant what he said about giving Americans back their voice, and that we will be heard, I guess he left out that being heard and being acknowledged are two different things. I am very disappointed in President Obama. If he truly wants to spur this economy forward he would pay attention to the needs of "we the people" who have corrupt debt that is severely hindering our purchasing power and therefore not stimulating the economy. The only thing being stimulated is the desires of the bankers/lenders and the lobbyists who work for them. I am not pleased with the situation, and will continue to let my voice and ours be heard!

Next step...

I am a new member on this group and I found it as I was googling methods of how to deal/handle student loans. I read all the articles and comments that my peers had written on this site. Now I just read the Syracuse Univerity article and it showed that other Universities are pushing for the same goal that we are and that we are not alone in this. However, we all need to brainstorm and give ideas of what the next step should be other than writing articles, how can we make our stories heard? Now a couple of days ago I wrote on Oprah's website and the White House comment/question link that was posted in this website. But I feel as our comments and letters will go unheard and ignored that's why I feel we really need to do something a little more drastic, like form a rally in front of the White House (these are just ideas to get the ball rolling here)anything to get the attention of the President and its administration on this matter and that this is serious. Let me know what you guys think of it?
