If what I've proposed "terrifies" the National Taxpayers Union, then I think we're onto something!
As a teacher in the Dearborn Public School system I am struggling to pay 3 student loans on one salary. Teachers who earned their degrees after 1997 can have their loans forgiven. However, those of us who have struggled with PT jobs, no benefits we are not earning large salaries. For those individuals who feel that it is unacceptable to give us a bailout. We will defintely remember your names when it comes to the ballot box. Most of the individuals on that committee took money from lobbyists, and also received campaign donations. They should excuse themselves from this process because they have a vested interest in these companies continuing to enslave an entire generation of people who made the mistake of wanting an education so they could work and help people.
