I recently signed the petition created by Kevin Bartoy to forgive student loans and I couldn't help but notice the discrepancy in group numbers between those who belong to this site and those who have signed the petition (roughly 200,000). What Mr. Applebaum is doing is amazing and I appreciates his efforts; I just figured that the more exposure this issue gets the better!

I'd be happy to post the link if Mr. Applebaum approves!

Thanks!

Actually, Kevin Bartoy's petition is linked above in the pull-down menu "Help the cause." ("Sign the Petition"). Kevin began that petition a few weeks before I wrote my original essay calling for student loan forgiveness as a means of economic stimulus. I had no idea someone else had the same idea, we got in touch with one another and joined forces. Unfortunately, Kevin couldn't devote much of his time to the cause as his professional life had to take precedence. I've tried to encourage everyone to sign the petition but it's like pulling teeth! I like to consider the membership of the Facebook Group (linked above in the pulldown menu "Resources") as a petition in its own right - mostly because I have no interest in reinventing the wheel.

Ah, my mistake! I will certainly do my best in spreading the word to sign the petition!
