As most of you are aware, this movement started when I posted the proposal to a new group I created on Facebook in late January, 2009. Eventually, after months of positive press attention, membership of that group swelled to nearly 300,000 people!
Unfortunately, the powers-that-be at Facebook have decided to do away with the old-format groups, in favor of new-format groups. As such, the original FSLD Facebook group with the impressive membership has been archived and Facebook, in its infinite wisdom, neglected to transfer the full membership of nearly 300,000 people to the new-format group.
Therefore, I'm asking everyone who receives this newsletter to PLEASE help us rebuild our impressive ranks by joining the new-format group on Facebook today!
It'll only take a moment of your time and, if you haven't been active in the movement for a while, I think you'll be impressed by just how dynamic and reinvigorated the group is now that we've finally had our voices heard by someone in a position of power.
Upon joining the new-format group, please invite your own Facebook friends to join the new group as well. As I've said from the beginning, there is strength in numbers - together, let's make lightening strike twice!
