As the petition in favor of The Student Loan Forgiveness Act of 2012 quickly approaches 1 Million Signatures (!!!), I feel compelled to remind all of you that, although this is an impressive feat, it's all for nothing if you don't vote!
We've already demonstrated an incredible ability to organize and to make our voices heard - nearly 1 million people in favor of H.R. 4170 is a terrific start - but to truly realize and demonstrate our collective powers, we must demonstrate what we can do in the voting booth as well. No other action you take this year will be as important as casting your vote in favor of candidates who stand on your side.
As we've seen, the issue of student loan forgiveness is one that is gaining traction with each passing day. Thanks to each and every one of those who've signed the petition and taken action to promote H.R. 4170, we're already a force to be reckoned with.
Now, let's bring that force to the polls and demonstrate to the powers-that-be that we're serious about the need to fundamentaly overhaul the way in which we pay for higher education in America, and that we expect Congress to not only recognize the fact that student loan debt continues to be a significant drag on the economy, but to fix it!
Those who neglect to exercise their right as a citizen to vote leave the important decisions about where we want to go as a country to others - others who likely do not represent your interests, economic or otherwise.
That's why I'm writing to you today - to remind you to both register to vote, and then to actually vote on November 6th!
To find out what the registration deadline(s) are for your state, please click here.
Otherwise, please REGISTER TO VOTE HERE.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Now, go register to vote!
This is a great article. Me and my bestfriend who goes to cosmetology training schools enjoyed reading this.
