Submit Your Questions to President Obama about Student Loan Debt!

CBS News is asking people to submit questions about the economy to President Obama which may be used in an upcoming town hall meeting with the President.  Per the suggestion of one of our more active members, Aimee P., we here at ForgiveStudentLoanDebt are encouraging all members to submit a student loan-related question with the hopes that, if enough people submit questions on that topic, the sheer volume of student loan-related questions will simply be too big to ignore.  So, start drafting those questions and submitting them via the link below asap!

Interest Free?

Perhaps, should a student loan forgiveness not be feasible, you might consider eliminating the interest? Due to state budget cuts, I lost my job in 2009. I was making regular payments until a short while after that. I've been unemployed for almost two years now and still no full time job in sight. I worry more and more each day about the interest I'm accruing on my student loan, let alone the whole balance. While I would greatly appreciate a complete forgiveness, just eliminating the interest would certainly be helpful. I paid off my undergraduate student loan before it was due and had planned to attempt the same with my graduate loan, but the economy has been against me. Please give some thought to either complete forgiveness, or for just the interest.

interest forgiveness

This is the same thing I've been thinking ever since this web site was conceived. I don't mind paying for the money I borrowed to go to school, but the interest that has added up over the years is more than I borrowed. I would like to be able to just pay the original amount borrowed minus the interest. He helped the banks why not us little people now! I will NEVER be able to repay my loans and keep putting them in forbearance. I can't do that any longer I was told. I'm at risk of my loans going into default now! Something has to be done ASAP!

Full student loan forgiveness

Full student loan forgiveness is the ultimate goal, but elimination of interest would certainly be a good first step.
