I think there was something in the wall street... I am not really knowledgeable in terms of law and financial ideas but I could say that we really have to investigate that bill before leveling up as a law, that is for our own good. The Obama Wall Street Address at Cooper Union College was meant for president Obama to further explain his stand point on the health bill that could be going to the Senate later this week or next. The bill has already passed the House of Representatives, and only has a little ways left on its way to becoming law. This reform bill has numerous good and questionable sides to it. All I ask is that before you get all hot headed and worked up over it, do your research. Really spend some unbiased time finding out exactly what this bill is about and the way it will impact your life; you may be amazed
Its disgusting how the government has not put a stop to this or at least put a limit on how much interest a student should pay. Seriously, students have minimum wage jobs and have to worry about books, transportation, clothes, food, school supplies, etc. so why is the government letting these malignant, devious companies take advantage of students?!! Im having the same problem with sallie mae and chase, i just recently got a loan for 13,000 with chase and the agreement says i will have to end up paying back 45,000! Really? So this is how you help people who are trying to better themselves, who have dreams of a better future, hopes of living in a better neighborhood... i guess if our parents arent rich we should all just sell drugs, and become hookers.
Hello,
I wanted to thank you for taking on this issue. I'm so ashamed that I have over $250000 in student loans (some private/some not), for my PhD. I'm ashamed that I was so silly, but frankly, I couldn't live on my grad student salary. I don't know how I'm going to pay them off and I can't get my parents, who cosigned, in trouble, but I earn only $35000 per year. Thank you for sharing this story to let me know I'm not alone.
