Wallet Pop: Student Loan Horror Stories - What's the Worst that can Happen?

Some of you made fun of me for including "suicide" as an option in my poll about the most aggressive form of protest you'd consider so as to be heard by Congress regarding your student loans.  While I personally don't think student loans are cause for anything so drastic, I included it as an option in the poll because I was well aware of many stories of people who felt so defeated that suicide started seeming like a viable option to them.

Well, this article from WalletPop.com included the statistic that 8% of respondents to my unscientific poll chose "suicide" as the most aggressive form of protest they'd consider.  That isn't to say that 8% of them will kill themselves, just that 8% consider it a non-crazy thing to do in response to overwhelming debt.  While I don't agree with those who comprise the 8%, I certainly think it's a telling statistic in terms of the real life struggles that student loan debt can impose upon one's life.
