Dear Friends and Supporters:
As I wrote to you the other day, FSLD is seeking to incorporate as a non-profit and is seeking tax-exempt status from the IRS. I sent out a request for modest donations and the response was incredible. Within 24 hours, we were 3/4ths of the way to our goal of $2000. Unfortunately, that's when the donations stopped trickling in.
For a donation of a mere $20, $10 or even just $5, FSLD will be able to incorporate as a non-profit so as to seek out and accept foundational grants to keep our operations funded. It is our goal to establish FSLD as a permanent presence in DC and around the country, to expand upon our role as a leading voice on the issue of student loan debt.
I rarely ask for anything of the membership of this group, other than to actively participate in making our arguments in favor of student loan forgiveness and a fundamental overhaul of the way in which higher education is paid for in this country. This time, however, I need your monetary help.
If you've already given, thank you from the bottom of my heart! If you're able to give again, that would be great, if not, I'm going to need to rely on those of you who have not yet pitched in.
