Would you be willing to participate in a mass withholding of Student Loan repayments to protest the assault on the middle class?
When I signed up for my student loans I knew what I was getting myself into. I have massive amounts of student loans. I pay about 2000 dollars a month. Would it be nice to have that debt magically disappear? Yes of course. However I would feel dishonest if I didnt keep my end of the agreement. The lenders gave all of us money for school under the agreement that we would pay it back. How is it fair to them if we dont do what we agreed to do. Pay your debts and then dont use credit to pay for things and you wont have to struggle to get out of debt. In my Grandparents era, your word was your bond. If you said you were going to do something you did it. Now people will do whatever they can not to live up to there agreements. I am disappointed in the young people in this country.
My opinion is the same as the others, I'm all for it but we would need to make an impact.
My loans are only getting to be more and more expensive and I'm only 22 years old.
It's not fair to students or their families who have co-signed for these loans. At this point I'm really backed into a corner and support any chance of a change in our system. God bless everyone who is going through the same situation as I am or even worse, good luck everyone let's make a change.
This is something I would be willing to participate in. My main concern however would be that the amount of participation would have to be significant for it to be successful. Default rates are high, and that is not making a difference because of the government subsidies for these loans. If this were to be attempted, it would have ot be well planed out for it to achieve the desired affect.
In order to be taken serious, we have to show UNITY. This cause will help millions of people who are suffering everyday from this epidemic; yes it is a growing disease. We have to fight this battle and remain strong.
... it would not be faor to my husband to ruin my credit
Is it close? LOL.
Myself and a couple others have proposed this, but I wouldn't do it without a large following.

Understood. However, at this point, I'm just asking the question. Not asking anyone to make a commitment (yet) - just trying to guage the level of support for such a form of protest.
