One of my greatest concerns about the weight of my student loan debt is that I may never be able to afford children. How can I feed another mouth if I can barely feed my own?
Did I mention I have a graduate degree? What's wrong with this picture???
I feel like I'm dreaming about winning the lottery when I think about having the student loan situation change so that I would be able to take the money I spend on loan payments and use it to buy other things.
Why is it so hard to conceive that if I have more money...i'll spend more money. We've all been taught this lesson. You live according to your means. Naturally, if you are able to afford a home/car/small business/clothes/eye care/dental care/healthcare....you are going to buy it. thereby ridding neighborhoods of these stifled housing rehabs, abandoned homes. The auto industry can employ those thousands of people to keep car sales thriving. this vacuum of greed will turn this free country into a 3rd world country. All the money to the banks and fat cats and less to the people. SMDH
I would spend it on multiple things. First, I would probably buy a car, clothes, get plane tickets to California to meet my husband's family that I haven't met yet because no one can afford to fly across country, buy some furniture for my apartment, think about having a kid, and save for retirement and a home.
I would take the money I am required to pay on student loans and put it into my children's education
Teeth, eyes, other various ailments not covered by insurance, upgrade to a better car, buy needed clothes and furniture, have a life.
First of my *vote* wish is for multiple choices as aposed(sp) to a single one.
To be fair I'm spending somewhere near$500 a month and if you count the salliemae loans then I'm up over $750 a month.
That is why -'d have multiple check on this pole.
My first purchase would be a home! Then the obvious trip's to hardware store's to fixup the deal we found!
And 3rd would be a *new to us* family hauler - we foster and hope to adopt them.

I only hope I play a part in making that dream become a reality!
